K Print has been honoured with a Silver Award in the Graphic Design and Print Collaboration category at this years Irish Print Awards. This accolade celebrates a stunning 256-page case bound book “My Palitoy Story” printed for us in Belfast by GPS Colour Print. Our customer was Brian Hickey of Total Toy Books. Brian has an exceptional talent in book design and illustration and this is reflected in the many stand out features of the book.
The choice of case binding ensured that the book was not only visually appealing but also strong enough to withstand frequent use, maintaining its structural integrity over time. Adding to the book’s luxurious feel was the coloured end papers, which provides an immediate pop of colour as soon as the book is opened. This served as a prelude to the quality and attention to detail that permeated the entire publication. The laminated hardback cover was another standout feature. Lamination adds a layer of protection, ensuring the cover remains resistant to wear and tear while also giving it a sleek, polished finish. The interior of the book was printed on 150 gsm silk paper, a choice that significantly enhances the reading experience.
Winning this award is a significant achievement for K Print in our fourth year in business. It highlights the importance we place on innovation and working closely with our valued customers and suppliers.
Watch out for another blog later in the year on a book we will be printing with some exceptional features like spot UV varnish throughout and gold ink on the cover.
